Well I'm not in a position to judge as I can't really compare it to previous releases. I guess the good thing is that I've heard 12.10 is even worse.

yep.
the gnome version sucks too.

I'm putting up with 12.4 for now.
But I'd like to get it uninstalled, then 10.2 (or whatever) and then the 12.4 re installed.
I could cope with that.
